Throughout the school year, the physical education/health teacher is required to teach sixteen classes, covering
various health topics. All other remaining health material is to be covered by the classroom teachers and other personnel,
such as school nurses and DARE officers.
The physical education/health teacher generally runs health classes on a two week cycle. Each class in grades
1-5 is given two 30-minute classes each week. On week one, the two classes would be geared toward physical
education. On week two, there would be one 30-minute health class and one 30-minute physical education
class.
